What is Net Metering?

Net metering is a billing mechanism that allows solar system owners to feed excess electricity back to the national grid and receive credits on their electricity bill. In Pakistan, NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority) regulates the net metering policy.

How Does It Work?

When your solar panels produce more electricity than you consume during the day, the excess energy is exported to the grid. Your bi-directional meter records both the energy you consume from the grid and the energy you export. At the end of the billing cycle, you are only charged for the net energy consumed.
